According to The Sun, Everton have now identified Nuno Espírito Santo as their No.1 choice to replace Carlo Ancelotti.
The report states that Duncan Ferguson was being considered for the vacancy, but Farhad Moshiri has now put Nuno at the top of his list.
Below the 47-year-old on that list are Eddie Howe and Rafa Benítez.
Vitor Pereira is also said to be interested in replacing Ancelotti.
He has spent the last three years managing Shanghai SIPG in China.
The Sun state that a potential issue in appointing Nuno is Ferguson’s role on the backroom staff.

It is said that the Portuguese coach wants to bring in his own team, which would see the former Everton striker depart.
Everton face competition from Crystal Palace
The Toffees aren’t the only side interested in hiring Nuno.
The Sun believe Crystal Palace also want the man who was just sacked by Wolves.
However, Everton’s larger budget, and loftier ambitions, could sway Nuno, despite the fact he’s been talking to the Eagles for days.

If Steve Parish really has been talking to him for days, we can’t imagine he’d be too happy about Nuno choosing to move to Goodison Park instead.
Having said that, you couldn’t blame Nuno.
With all due respect to the south Londoners, Everton are a bigger club, with much greater financial power to lure targets to Merseyside.
