Chelsea are interested in appointing Luis Enrique as their new manager amid strong links to Tottenham Hotspur.

The Blues are seeking a new manager yet again after parting ways with Graham Potter on Sunday night.

Saturday’s 2-0 defeat to Aston Villa was the end for Potter, who departs after just seven months in charge.

Chelsea must now go and bring in a new boss with Julian Nagelsmann a popular name on the rumour mill.

However, there appears to be another name in the mix – Luis Enrique.

Fabrizio Romano claims that Enrique has fans inside Chelsea and suggests the Spaniard is a ‘name to follow’ as he is really appreciated inside Stamford Bridge.

The Telegraph add that Chelsea are now likely to interview Enrique as they weigh up their options to replace Potter.

Enrique has already admitted his interest in managing in the Premier League and Chelsea could now oblige with an offer.

Chelsea’s interest in Luis Enrique another problem for Tottenham

Chelsea’s decision to sack Graham Potter is now causing a real issue for Tottenham.

Spurs parted ways with Antonio Conte last week and are searching for a new manager to arrive this summer.

The problem is that a number of Spurs targets are now likely to be on the Chelsea radar too.

Nagelsmann is one such example and now Enrique fits the bill too.

The Athletic reported in March that Enrique is a top candidate for Spurs as Fabio Paratici has been a big fan of his for a while.

TalkSPORT added last week that Enrique would be on Tottenham’s shortlist for the job.

However, Paratici has now stepped back from his duties as director of football having been handed a worldwide ban.

That leaves a move for Enrique up in the air and Chelsea may now be in position to go and speak to the Spaniard before Spurs even get their house in order.

Chelsea can only appoint one manager here but their interest in a number of Tottenham targets is a problem for Daniel Levy and co.
