Tottenham Hotspur may face a battle with rivals Chelsea for Arne Slot as the Feyenoord boss attracts even more interest.

Chelsea appear to be moving on from prior managerial targets like Julian Nagelsmann and Luis Enrique.

The Blues have been heavily linked with making Mauricio Pochettino their new boss, much to the despair of Spurs fans.

Chelsea may yet frustrate Tottenham in another way though having looked into a move for Feyenoord boss Slot.

The Telegraph claim that Chelsea have ‘carried out thorough due diligence’ on Slot ahead of a possible move.

It may well be that Chelsea turn towards Slot if their move for Pochettino doesn’t materialise in the coming days and weeks.

That would be a blow for Tottenham who appear to be very keen on bringing the Dutchman to North London this summer.

Tottenham want Feyenoord boss Arne Slot

90Min claimed last week that Tottenham would like to speak to Slot about a move to North London.

This comes after The Independent reports earlier this month that Tottenham have been using ‘back channels’ to gauge Slot’s interest in the job.

With Tottenham seemingly not looking to go for Pochettino, Slot has emerged as a major candidate for the Spurs job.

The problem for Spurs is that they’re largely fishing in the same ponds as Chelsea when it comes to managers.

Enrique, Nagelsmann and now Slot have all been linked with both jobs.

Tottenham’s task is made even harder as they don’t have a director of football in place to bring some kind of synergy to matters.

Slot won’t just leave Feyenoord for any job; he has the Rotterdam club top of the Eredivisie table and closing in on the title.

The Dutchman will need the right job and the right project toe leave Feyenoord – and it’s hard to make a case that Tottenham are that club right now.

Spurs will hope that Chelsea don’t go for Slot just to make their life a little easier, but Daniel Levy will still have a job convincing him.
