Celtic have held talks with manager Francesco Farioli as they consider appointing the Italian to replace Ange Postecoglou.
Francesco Farioli is emerging as a target for Celtic having held talks over becoming the new Bhoys manager.
That is according to the Daily Record, who report that Celtic have been in discussions over a move for Farioli.
It’s stated that a meeting has taken place between Farioli and Celtic decision-makers.
The report claims that Farioli wants to make Glasgow his next destination, but whether he lands the job remains to be seen.
Celtic are doing due diligence on a number of targets, including another Italian coach in Manchester City’s Enzo Maresca.
Farioli is out of work having left Turkish side Alanyaspor in February.
The 34-year-old has been linked with a number of clubs since leaving Alanyaspor.
Fabrizio Romano reported in April that Sunderland like Farioli and would view him as a potential successor to ex-Celtic boss Tony Mowbray.
That one seemed strange at the time given Mowbray’s success this season and a move to Watford won’t be happening either.
The Hornets held talks with Farioli in April but have instead chosen to appoint Valerian Ismael as their new manager.

Who is Celtic target Francesco Farioli?
Farioli had no playing career to really speak of but started his coaching carer at the age of just 20.
Farioli became a goalkeeping coach at Margine Coperta before taking on similar roles at Fortis Juventus and Lucchese.
A move to Qatar with the ASPIRE Academy materialised before Farioli landed his big break by working with Roberto De Zerbi.
The now-Brighton boss brought Farioli in as a goalkeeping coach at Benevento and Sassuolo, working together in 100 games.
Farioli moved on to Turkey, becoming Alanyaspor assistant manager before landing the big job at Fatih Karagumruk.
11 wins, eight draws and eight defeats in 27 games was a decent record and Farioli moved onto Turkish rivals Alanyaspor.
Farioli won 20 of his 48 games with Alanyaspor, losing 16 times but carving out a decent reputation as a young, up-and-coming coach in the process.
Celtic would be taking a risk by going for such a young coach in Farioli but he continues to be linked with jobs in England and Scotland, so maybe this will be the one for him.
