Celtic have now held talks with Brendan Rodgers over a stunning return to the club as Ange Postecoglou’s replacement.
Celtic could end up blocking Tottenham Hotspur’s move for John Kennedy by making a move to bring back Brendan Rodgers.
That is according to a report from the Daily Mail, who claim that Celtic have now spoken to Rodgers face-to-face.
It’s stated that Celtic chief executive Michael Nicholson and finance director Chris McKay have both blown to Mallorca in recent days.
Rodgers owns a home out in Mallorca and Celtic have now made the personal visit to try and tempt him back to Parkhead.
The Northern Irishman is understood to have reservations about returning to Celtic right now.
Rodgers left the club for a move to Leicester City in 2019 and it’s fair to say that Bhoys fans were far from impressed.
The level of animosity towards Rodgers may well put him off, but he was planning to take a sabbatical anyway.
Rodgers left Leicester City in April and was seemingly looking to take a year out of management to recharge his batteries.
Celtic are hoping to change Rodgers’ mind and engineer a stunning return to Glasgow more than four years since his exit.

Brendan Rodgers to Celtic could frustrate Tottenham Hotspur
Rodgers would be joining Celtic as a replacement for Ange Postecoglou, who left the Bhoys for Tottenham Hotspur last week.
The Australian has been interested in taking assistant manager John Kennedy to Tottenham too.
Reports last week suggested that Kennedy had asked Celtic to let him go, but no Spurs move has been confirmed yet.
The Mail now claim that Kennedy could be tempted to stay if Rodgers comes back.
Rodgers and Kennedy worked closely during the 50-year-old’s first stint in charge of the Bhoys.
Rodgers may not be able to call upon usual assistant Chris Davies, who is the top choice to become the new Swansea City boss.
That would mean greater emphasis is placed on keeping Kennedy, which may leave Tottenham and Postecoglou empty-handed.
More talks with Rodgers are coming this week with Celtic attempting to gauge whether he would really return to Parkhead.
