Celtic are now interested in appointing Kieran McKenna as their new manager after losing Ange Postecoglou to Tottenham Hotspur.
Ipswich Town boss Kieran McKenna is now on Celtic’s wish list to potentially replace Ange Postecoglou.
That is according to the Daily Record, who claim that the Celtic board are now looking at McKenna as an option.
It’s stated that Manchester City assistant manager Enzo Maresca is a ‘major contender’ to become the new Celtic boss.
McKenna is emerging as a real option though and it’s noted that his style of play is similar to that of Postecoglou.
McKenna hails from Northern Ireland just like former Celtic boss Brendan Rodgers.
The Ipswich Town boss has even previously admitted to The Times that his coaching inspiration is Rodgers.
Following in Rodgers’ footsteps by becoming Celtic boss may appeal to McKenna even after clinching promotion to the Championship.

McKenna was plucked from the Ballinamallard United ranks at a young age as Tottenham Hotspur pounced to land him.
Whilst there were high hopes for McKenna in his playing days, he was forced to retire early due to a hip injury.
McKenna – a midfielder as a player – retired in 2009, aged just 22.
The former Northern Ireland youth international chose to stay in football though and pursued coaching.
After spells with Leicester City and Nottingham Forest, McKenna got his big break with Tottenham as their Under-18 coach in 2015.
Manchester United came calling just a year later and after impressing at Old Trafford, McKenna was promoted to assistant manager under Jose Mourinho.
McKenna held that role for more than three years before deciding to go into management, taking over at Ipswich Town in December 2021.
The 37-year-old has worked wonders at Portman Road, losing just 12 of his 79 games as a manager.
McKenna racked up 98 points to clinch promotion from League One this season and watched his team smash 101 league goals.
With a strong brand of football and enormous potential as a manager, McKenna now appears to be on the Celtic radar.
