Graeme Murty has taken to Twitter to send an emotional message to Rangers fans following his departure from the Ibrox club.

What’s the story?

Rangers have announced on their official Twitter page this afternoon that Murty is leaving the Gers.

Murty has been working as the Head of Elite Academy Development at Rangers.

The former Scotland international defender has been on the books of Rangers for the past five years.

The 47-year-old also had a spell as the Rangers caretaker-manager during his time at the defending Scottish Premiership champions.

It remains to be seen what Murty does now.

The 47-year-old is a very good coach who did well as the caretaker-manager of Rangers.

It is also a new beginning for Rangers.

Steven Gerrard has left the Gers for Aston Villa in the Premier League.

Former Rangers star Giovanni van Bronckhorst is now the manager of the Gers.
