Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Giovani Lo Celso is still looking to hit top form this season, but he enjoyed a fine night with Argentina.
The 24-year-old suffered a somewhat stunted pre-season due to injury, and has subsequently started just one Premier League game this season.
Fans of course know his quality, but he is still seeking some sharpness in order to break into Jose Mourinho’s first-choice midfield.
Still, Lo Celso started for Argentina against Peru this morning, and played a key role in a 2-0 win in Lima.
Lo Celso set up Nicolas Gonzalez with a superb pass to make it 1-0, and Lautaro Martinez added a second to seal a comfortable win.
The Spurs star featured in midfield with Leandro Paredes in a 4-4-1-1 system, and has been hailed for his performance.

Argentinian newspaper Ole claim that Lo Celso passing was ‘key’ to Argentina’s win, adding the bold statement that he was the true driving force of the Argentina side, ahead of Lionel Messi.
That’s a massive compliment for Lo Celso, and maybe a sign that he is getting towards his best ahead of Tottenham’s clash with Manchester City this weekend.
