Leeds United fans are delighted after Marcelo Bielsa suggested to the Yorkshire Evening Post that he could extend his stay at Elland Road beyond this season.
Bielsa has previously been loathed to sign a long-term deal at Leeds, and actually took a long time to even commit to a one-year deal following their promotion to the Premier League.
But the Argentine boss, who has earned hero status with Leeds, has now claimed that he could see himself sticking around for the long-term.
“I’m very comfortable living and managing in England,” he said.
“Annual contracts does not mean I am not open to staying here longer.”
And Bielsa’s words have gone down brilliantly with Leeds fans, who are now hoping that they can convince their current boss to stick around for years yet.
It is no surprise that Leeds supporters are keen to keep Bielsa at Elland Road as he has reinvigorated the club.
During his time in Yorkshire, Bielsa has completely changed Leeds’ style of play and finally ended their 16-year wait for top flight football.
Already Leeds look as if they could cause problems back in the top tier, as they have made an extremely encouraging start to the campaign.
Leeds have taken seven points from their first five Premier League matches, which leaves them sitting in 10th spot in the table.
