Dummett need not have posted anything on Twitter about Sunderland’s relegation, but the fact that he did, even in emojis, show how much he loves Newcastle and what the club means to him.

The Welshman is a very good left-back who has improved under manager Rafael Benitez.

At 26, Dummett can still develop and add facets to his game, and the St. James’ Park faithful will hope that he continues to play well for the Magpies.

It will be interesting to see whether or not Sunderland bounce back from League One to the Championship at the first time of asking.
