Paul Dummett admitted that he was gutted after the Newcastle United defender sustained an injury on international duty.

Paul Dummett has taken to Twitter to express his disappointment after sustaining an injury on international duty – and his message may well leave plenty of Newcastle supporters feeling concerned.
Dummett had to be taken off during the first-half of Wales’ Nations League clash with Denmark last week and did not feature in their friendly with Albania.
And following the end of the international break, the full-back has taken to social media to comment on the injury and insist that he is working as hard as he can to get back to full fitness…
What will worry plenty of Magpies fans is how vague Dummett’s message is. The defender may be aware of how long he is set to be out for, but the tweet provides no indication that that is the case, so it may well be that Rafa Benitez is still waiting to find out how long the stalwart will be missing for.

The 27-year-old has started 10 of Newcastle’s 12 Premier League games this season and has performed well.
And given that left-back is arguably one area of the squad where the Magpies lack depth beyond Dummett, Benitez will surely be hoping that the problem does not prove to be serious and he is only set to be sidelined for a short period.
