The Serbian striker’s celebrations were slightly over the top when Dwight Gayle scored a last minute winner against Norwich.

Aleksandar Mitrovic has blamed his emotions for his sensational celebration against Norwich, speaking to the Serbian press ahead of their game against Moldov, as quoted by the Chronicle.
Having gone 3-1 behind, Newcastle scored twice in stoppage time to win the game, sending the player and supporters wild as they celebrated a famous win, but one player almost took the celebrations too far.

“I put it down to my emotions and adrenaline because we got goals in the 94th and 96th minute,” Mitrovic told the Serbian press.
“I just went to grab someone and ended up doing that. I’m just like that. I was overjoyed, and Gayle was not angry.”
After Gayle scored in the 96th minute to make it 4-3, the Serbian forward appeared to grab a hold of the goal scorer, before hurling him to the floor with a move that would not look out of place in WWE.

To top it off, the 22-year-old would then hoist manager Rafael Benitez in the air after the full time whistle.
While Mitrovic’s contributions on the pitch are yet to take off this season, the connection he has with the Newcastle fans is why he is such a fan favourite on Tyneside. The youngster has captured the hearts of the Geordies, despite only being at St James’ Park for just over a year.
The Magpies players will now be scared to score a goal when Mitrovic is on the pitch after seeing the way he treated Gayle following his hat trick strike.
