Mitrovic seems to be having an effect both on and off the field at Newcastle.
Newcastle United goalkeeper Karl Darlow has said that Aleksandar Mitrovic has been able to ‘gee-up’ the side, the Chronicle reports, even when he’s not playing.
Mitrovic has been doing his bit for the side on the field in recent games, having bagged a brace in each of the two games against Preston North End which has helped the Magpies to the quarter-finals of the EFL Cup and maintain their three point lead at the top of the Championship.

The Serbian’s personality seems to be infectious and it appears he is a favourite of the fans on Tyneside, but that personality is also having an effect in the dressing room.
Darlow is quoted in the Chronicle, saying: “He definitely does gee us all up.
“He’s come into the team against Preston in the cup and scored two there, then another two against the same team at Deepdale to win us the game.

“Obviously we’ve missed [Dwight] Gayle, who’s been in terrific form as well, but it’s nice to have two strikers scoring goals.”
It’s good for a side to have that kind of personality around the club to help with the team spirit, but as Darlow alludes to, it helps when they are delivering on the pitch too.
Newcastle seems to be a pretty positive place to be at both on and off the field. They seem to be enjoying their football, while the entire mood in the camp off the field seems to be pretty good. It’s the kind of mix you want from a side if they are to have any form of success over the course of the season.
