The Newcastle United ace has been linked with a move to West Ham United.
Hammers boss David Moyes will be determined to bolster his ranks during the January transfer window, what with his side currently sitting precariously in 17th position in the Premier League table.
One area in particular where the Scot wants to strengthen is central midfield, having complained to the media about his imbalanced squad at the London Stadium, and it seems as though he has already identified a prime target.
According to the Mirror, West Ham are lining up a January move for Magpies ace Jonjo Shelvey.

If Moyes is successful in bringing the Englishman to the London Stadium next month, it could turn out to be a really significant piece of business for the club.
The 25-year-old joined Newcastle from Swansea City in January 2016, for a fee believed to be in the region of £12 million, and he has impressed on the most part with his vast array of passing skills, and the manner in which he dictates the tempo of the game from a deep-lying midfield role.
A lifelong Hammers fan, Shelvey began his youth career with West Ham, so a move to the London Stadium seems the ideal fit for both him and the club.
The Magpies man would undoubtedly help the east London outfit improve upon the fluidity of their passing game, and he would be the ideal partner for Cheikhou Kouyaté, Pedro Obiang or Mark Noble in the middle of the park.
Whether Rafa Benitez would entertain selling him, however, remains to be seen.
