Leicester City are reportedly keen on signing the Newcastle United defender.

According to a report from the Sun, Leicester are lining up a £35 million bid for Newcastle skipper Jamaal Lascelles if Harry Maguire leaves the King Power Stadium this summer, and the Derby-born centre-back would be a more than adequate replacement for the England international.
The 24-year-old joined the Magpies from Nottingham Forest in the summer of 2014, and he has gone on to establish himself as a real fan favourite at St James’ Park, racking up 103 appearances in all competitions in the process.
Whilst Leicester will obviously not want to lose Maguire, if they receive an offer in the region of £65 million for his services, it will be extremely hard to refuse.
And Lascelles’ arrival in the east Midlands would soften the blow of losing the 25-year-old.
The Newcastle ace possesses fantastic leadership skills, and he would bring a certain level of organisation to the Foxes’ back-line.
Standing at 6ft 2in tall, he is strong in the air, but he is also quick along the ground.

Lascelles also possesses the uncanny knack of being able to anticipate danger before it truly develops, and although £35 million seems like a lot of money at first glance, in today’s day and age it would actually represent decent value for money for Leicester.
The 24-year-old is a top level defender, and bringing him to the King Power Stadium for £30m less than they would be receiving for Maguire really would have to be classed as exceptional business from the 2016 Premier League champions.
