The West Ham United winger is a reported transfer target for Newcastle United this summer.
A report from popular football news website Football.London today suggests that there are four clubs interested in signing Hammers flop Robert Snodgrass this summer.
One of those clubs is believed to be the Magpies, but after the 29-year-old’s woeful form for West Ham following his January switch to the London Stadium, Rafa Benitez could be making a big mistake by bringing him to St James’ Park.

Whilst Newcastle are undoubtedly in need of an established winger ahead of the start of the new Premier League campaign, the Scotland international does not possess the type of attitude that Benitez needs in his team, ahead of what will surely be an extremely challenging season in the top flight.
Snodgrass is technically gifted, of that there is no doubt, but it could be argued that he is somewhat of a luxury player, who only really shows up when things are going well. He is not known for knuckling down to his task, and giving 100 per cent at all times.
The Toon cannot afford to carry any passengers this term, and Benitez would be better served in bringing in someone based on specific attributes and strengths rather than reputation alone.
The former Hull City man will be turning 30 in September, which usually signals the beginning of a professional footballer’s decline, so a move for him would make little sense from not only a footballing perspective, but equally from a financial one.
There is just over three weeks remaining until the start of the new Premier League campaign, so Newcastle fans will be desperate to see some new faces arrive on Tyneside, but Snodgrass will be one that they would be better off avoiding.
