The Newcastle United man is out of commission with a groin injury.
Newcastle United defender DeAndre Yedlin has revealed on Instagram that he has undergone surgery.
The USA right-back was omitted from the squad for Newcastle’s defeat by Liverpool last weekend, prompting questions over his whereabouts.
Javier Manquillo continued in Yedlin’s position and dazzled against the Reds nonetheless.
Magpies boss Rafael Benitez revealed to The Shields Gazette afterwards that the former Tottenham ace had sat out the game with a groin problem.
And it looks like the 25-year-old has undergone surgery on the issue after posting a photo of himself in hospital on Instagram:
Benitez kept the surgery under wraps, prompting a number of United fans to express their surprise in the comments section of the photo.
Yedlin had already lost his place to Manquillo in recent weeks regardless and, with their being just the one Premier League game to go, it isn’t a detrimental blow for Benitez’s side.
