Newcastle United wide-man Christian Atsu has been short of his best form this term.

Astu admits that he was far from in his peak physical shape at the start of the season, and that has affected his form.
The flying winger has largely been used from the substitutes’ bench this season, and he has made a limited impact.
Atsu has come in for criticism from the St. James’ Park crowd, but he insists that his form will improve.
“I need to give everything and work harder because, at the start of the season, I was not in good shape,” the £6 million signing back in 2017 (Chronicle) said.
“I am still getting my fitness back to where I want it to be.
“I am really working hard, and I am confident this is going to be a good season. I know I can get back to my best form.
“It has been more difficult to recover than I thought it would be.”

Atsu’s pace and willingness to run at defenders makes him a good option for Rafael Benitez’s side when he is fit.
If the former Chelsea man can rediscover his best form then Newcastle’s chances this term will be greatly increased.
Even without Atsu in top form Newcastle have been able to improve in recent weeks.
The Magpies have won their last two matches in succession, and moved up to 14th in the Premier League table.
