Newcastle United had hoped to sign West Ham winger Robert Snodgrass before his move to the London Stadium.

With Robert Snodgrass struggling since his £10.2 million move to West Ham during the January transfer window (via BBC Sport), it may not be that great a surprise if the Hammers hierarchy are willing to listen to offers for the 29-year-old before his value drops too considerably.
Although the Scotland international has done little to vindicate the Irons’ decision to sign him just a few months ago, there is no question that he possesses a tremendous amount of talent, so may perhaps be willing to consider a change of scene if his current side make it clear that they are willing to let him go for the right price.
One club that may perhaps be interested is Newcastle United. The Sun reported that the Magpies were keen before his switch to the London Stadium, so perhaps with automatic-promotion out of the Championship now appearing to be something of a certainty, Rafa Benitez should consider reviving their interest if there is the potential for a deal to be agreed.
A recent report from the Chronicle suggested that Benitez wanted six first-team ready signings this summer, with a new winger likely to be on his radar.

Snodgrass was previously excellent at Hull, so should be more than capable of making an impact at St James’ Park if the chance presented itself.
And with some potentially writing him off following his tough spell at West Ham, he would surely have all the motivation he would need to give him the best chance of making a potential switch to Newcastle a successful one by helping the side re-establish themselves back at the highest level.
