Newcastle United are willing to offload Jamaal Lascelles in the summer transfer window, according to Dean Jones.

The well-known and well-respected journalist has reported in GiveMeSport that Newcastle will listen to offers for Lascelles and are looking to move on the 28-year-old central defender.

Lascelles has been on the books of Newcastle since 2014 and has a contract with the Magpies until the summer of 2024.

Jones told GiveMeSport about Lascelles: “He’ll be available for transfer in the summer. The circumstances just aren’t going to suit him at this stage and Newcastle are looking to transition beyond him.

“It’s just the vision that Newcastle have right now and, from what I understand, Lascelles probably isn’t going to fit in with it.”

Potential Newcastle disappointment for Jamaal Lascelles

In our opinion, if Newcastle sell Lascelles in the summer transfer window, then it will be a disappointment for the 28-year-old central defender.

Lascelles is the Newcastle captain at the moment, and he will surely want to be part of a new era at the club under PIF.

The former England Under-21 international centre-back has made 21 starts and three substitute appearances in the Premier League for Newcastle this season.

Lascelles has scored one goal in those games.

The defender has not always been at his best, but he is a long-serving member of the team.

In our view, Lascelles will be bitterly disappointed if the Magpies sell him.

We think that Lascelles could still be able to do a very good job for another Premier League club.

After all, the centre-back is still only 28.
