Newcastle United are interested in signing Conor Gallagher from Chelsea, according to The Daily Mail.

It has been reported that Newcastle under new owners would target players like Gallagher, who is on loan at Crystal Palace from Chelsea at the moment.

An investment group led by the Public Investment Fund (PIF), and also comprising PCP Capital Partners and RB Sports & Media, have taken over Newcastle from Mike Ashley.

Realistic target

Gallagher is a very good and promising young midfielder who is doing well at Palace at the moment.

The England Under-21 international has scored two goals and provided one assist in six Premier League appearances for the Eagles so far this season.

Now, Chelsea are a rich club and do not need to sell players.

However, the Blues have sold quality academy graduates in the past, and the London club could well decide to cash in on Gallagher if Newcastle make a big offer.

Gallagher is actually a realistic target who is rated highly in the football community.

Just ask Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp.

Klopp told Liverpool’s official website last month that Gallagher is “a really, really good player”.

Gallagher himself could be tempted to be part of a brand new project at Newcastle.
