Lallana is struggling for game time at Liverpool, and Newcastle need additions.

The Chronicle claimed ahead of the January transfer window that Newcastle United and Rafa Benitez wanted to sign a creative midfielder this month – and the Spanish boss should look to his former club Liverpool.
Newcastle have failed to make any signings this month, with owner Mike Ashley seemingly preventing the Toon from spending any money once again despite a number of positions that require strengthening.
The Toon sit in the bottom three of the Premier League and are in real danger of suffering relegation from the Premier League, after picking up just two points from their last possible 15.
A left-back, new winger and a holding midfielder are crucial, but a number 10 is likely to be the most sought-after player Newcastle want this month and it should convince Benitez to look towards Liverpool.
Adam Lallana is struggling for game time at Anfield, after Jurgen Klopp brought Xherdan Shaqiri to the club in the summer. The pocket-sized Switzerland international has starred since joining the club from Stoke.
The 34-time England international has managed just 202 minutes of Premier League football this season, and is unlikely to break into the Reds side with the club currently sitting at the top of the tree.

The ex-Southampton star needs a loan move, or even a permanent transfer this month to salvage what he has left in the Premier League. Now 30, and turning 31 in May, he may find that he only has a few more years in the top flight.
Newcastle should give him the chance to shine in the Premier League and reignite his career. It would be a move that would benefit all parties, and surely bring the best out of Salomon Rondon and Joselu.
Newcastle already have two players on loan at the club, but Benitez did not rule out cancelling Kenedy’s loan from Chelsea at the start of the month (Chronicle). The Toon should seriously consider this, if a Lallana move is available.
Signing Lallana on loan until the end of the season could be just what Newcastle need to survive the drop. Earning just £65,000 a week (Spotrac) at Liverpool, The Toon may be able to afford the twinkle-toed playmaker.
