Newcastle United can’t sign a goalkeeper unless they sell Tim Krul – meaning West Ham United’s Adrian may slip through their grasp.
It’s a sad fact that Tim Krul, once a hero at Newcastle United and one of the Premier League’s most promising goalkeepers, is being shoved out the St James’ Park exit this summer.
According to Spanish publication El Desmarque, Newcastle have offered the long-serving custodian to Deportivo La Coruna, while A Bola report that Benfica could be prepared to pay £4.5 million for the 11-time Dutch international.

And it appears that it would suit Newcastle to get Krul, who has not played for the club since suffering a cruciate ligament injury in October 2015, off the books as soon as possible this summer.
Therefore, the report adds that their hopes of landing West Ham ‘keeper Adrian may have taken a hit with Krul still at the club and, supposedly, keen to stay beyond the end of the transfer window. As such, this may give Crystal Palace the advantage in the chase for the former Real Betis ‘keeper.
Manager Frank de Boer insisted that a new shot-stopper remains high on Palace’s list of priorities and The Sun claim that Adrian, who is unsettled at West Ham after losing his place to Joe Hart, is a £3 million target.

West Ham boss Slaven Bilic confirmed that he wants the 30-year-old to remain at the London Stadium, per The Sun, and the club will offer the goalkeeper a new contract.
However, it makes little sense keeping an unhappy player though, with Krul still contracted to Newcastle, it appears that Benitez is no closer to getting his man.
