The Magpies are second in the Championship following their sixth straight win.

Newcastle United winger Matt Ritchie has shared Rafa Benitez’s post-QPR message to his players, during an interview with Talksport on Wednesday.
The Magpies ran riot in the capital, beating the R’s 6-0, a win that was, fittingly, their sixth on the bounce in the Championship.
Benitez’s men had begun the campaign in the worst possible manner, losing their opening two league matches, but their subsequent surge has catapulted them to second in the standings – a point off leaders Huddersfield Town.

In the eyes of many Championship observers, Newcastle’s win on Tuesday night is an ominous sign of things to come this season, with the Magpies having invested heavily in their squad during the summer months.
However, Ritchie told the Jim White show that his manager is keen to ensure his players refrain from taking their feet off the gas.
“Obviously the main message was to keep our feet on the floor, continue to work hard and have a desire to get better,” said Ritchie, who moved to St. James’ Park for £12 million (Talksport) from Bournemouth during the summer transfer window.

“It’s easy, when you have a good result like that away from home and you’ve won six on the bounce, for the lads to lose sight of what we’re aiming to do.”
Ritchie, who already had a goal and an assist to his name prior to Newcastle’s Loftus Road trip, set up his side’s fourth goal for Ciaran Clark.
