Would Newcastle United keeper Karl Darlow fit in at Celtic if the rumoured transfer comes off?

Scottish Premiership champions Celtic need to take that next step on the ladder and the summer transfer window will indicate what they do and how far they will go next season.
The Chronicle recently claimed that the Bhoys are interested in signing Newcastle United goalkeeper Karl Darlow, who has made only one appearance at St James’ Park this term [transfermarkt].
It is an area that Celtic don’t need to concentrate on because they already have Scott Bain in between the sticks, but Craig Gordon’s career is seemingly going the wrong way.
Either way, signing Darlow would be the wrong choice by Celtic because he’ll be on Premier League wages and they can use to that to bulk up on more important areas of the pitch.
Darlow has barely featured for Rafa Benitez’s side since they were promoted to England’s top-flight in 2017. When they were in the Championship, he was a regular, but he didn’t impress.
His decision-making, lack of ability in dealing with crosses and errors in games was apparent for a team that had a solid backline and went on to win the title.

There is a reason he has hardly featured for Newcastle since their promotion and if he can’t cut it for them then Celtic should look elsewhere for a keeper.
There is no doubt that Bain is number 1 at Parkhead, but he needs competition, he needs someone pushing him, the fans may well just be hugely disappointed if the Darlow transfer were to come off this summer.
