According to the Chronicle, Leeds United want Newcastle United stopper Freddie Woodman, and he should jump at the chance to move to Elland Road.

Leeds are said to be considering making a move for the young prospect in the January transfer window, as they look to bolster their goalkeeping options.

And a move to Leeds could be absolutely brilliant for Woodman’s career.

Woodman is well down the pecking order at Newcastle, with Martin Dubravka, Karl Darlow and Rob Elliot all more likely to play in the first-team than him.

However, at Leeds, there would be a clear route into the Whites’ starting line-up.

Although Bailey Peacock-Farrell was the hero for Leeds last night, as he saved a penalty to help them beat Reading, the Northern Irish international’s place is not exactly secure.

Marcelo Bielsa admitted he would have dropped Peacock-Farrell but for an injury to Jamal Blackman recently.

And if Woodman was to move to Leeds he would immediately increase his chances of playing this season significantly.
