Newcastle United want Youssoufa Moukoko with Borussia Dortmund so far unwilling to give him a suitable release clause in a new deal.

That’s according to 90Min, who claim that Dortmund are thinking Moukoko’s exit is now increasingly likely.

Moukoko is out of contract at the end of the season and Dortmund have yet to agree terms over an extension.

It’s suggested that Moukoko wants a staggering €200,000-a-week (£175,000-a-week) to stay with Dortmund beyond the end of the campaign.

The report adds that Moukoko’s representatives want a release clause as part of the deal, having seen Dortmund give Erling Haaland similar terms.

The two sides can’t agree on a value though and with Dortmund offering just over €100,000-a-week, teams like Newcastle now have major hope of a deal.

Newcastle now pushing to secure Youssoufa Moukoko

The biggest suitor right now appears to be Newcastle.

The London Evening Standard claim that Newcastle have made a huge verbal offer to Moukoko worth more than £150,000-a-week.

Chelsea and Barcelona are both interested in Moukoko but Newcastle are thought to be in a great position to win the race for his signature.

Adding Moukoko to Alexander Isak could give Newcastle two of the most exciting strikers in Europe for the next 10 years.

Who could have seen this coming when Steve Bruce was scrapping around to try and sign Hamza Choudhury on loan?

Moukoko, 18, has cemented his reputation as a wonderkid with six goals in just 14 Bundesliga games this season.

Newcastle clearly see enormous potential in Moukoko and now believe a move to St James’ Park is a real possibility.

Whether Moukoko will demand a similar release clause from Newcastle remains to be seen, or whether Newcastle would even be open to such a deal.

Yet with Newcastle now offering huge wages to the teenager, the prospect of signing one of the world’s top young strikers is growing and growing.
