The Newcastle United winger could leave St. James’ Park for nothing next summer.
Newcastle United are yet to open ‘in-depth’ contract talks with winger Yoan Gouffran, reports the Chronicle.
Gouffran has been one of the unexpected stars of the Magpies’ campaign, scoring four goals and creating as many in 18 Championship appearances.
However, the Frenchman’s deal expires in June and he will be free to sign a pre-contract agreement with foreign clubs in January.

According to the Chronicle, Newcastle seek to add to their wide options next month, which would only increase the uncertainty surrounding Gouffran’s future.
Magpies boss Rafa Benitez is said to be targeting a left-sided player with Christian Atsu heading to the African Cup of Nations with Ghana.
Newcastle turned a reported profit of £31.2 million and money is there for Benitez, should he need it. However, it is claimed the Spaniard is also considering ‘a clutch of’ Premier League loan signings.

Gouffran arrived at St. James’ Park from French side Bordeaux in January 2013 and has played 117 times for the Magpies, scoring 17 goals and creating another 12.
