Newcastle United summer signing Kenedy has picked the worst possible time to make his most recent comments.

Newcastle United winger Kenedy’s comments have come at the worst possible time for him.

Kenedy admitted to UOL that he dreams of returning to Chelsea and winning the Champions League with them.

He said: “It’s nice to be on loan [at Newcastle] for more playing time. It’s better than staying at Chelsea and not playing.

“I [do though] have the dream to return and to be able to be a champion for the club [Chelsea].”

And the Brazilian may be regretting the comments, as they have caused some frustration among the Newcastle fan base.

On the face of it Kenedy’s comments aren’t actually particularly insulting. What footballer wouldn’t want to win the Champions League and play for one of the biggest clubs in the Premier League?

But Kenedy has picked a terrible time to make such a statement, as Newcastle supporters are so frustrated, and he still has much to prove.

Kenedy’s form at Newcastle this term has been short of his best, and his attitude has come in to question.

There has been questions asked over the youngster’s desire, and his admission that he has his eyes on leaving Newcastle eventually are hardly likely to win over the critics.

In truth, if Kenedy had made such a statement while playing well, Newcastle fans probably wouldn’t have batted an eyelid at the comments.

But to make such an admission while his performances are below par has to go down as an error from the Newcastle loanee, and at a time when he needs to be winning supporters around, he has just given them another reason to criticise.
