The Magpies are second from bottom in the Premier League table at the moment with 11 points from 19 games.

Watford are currently 17th in the standings with 13 points from 18 games.

Newcastle United v Watford

In our opinion, today’s match between Newcastle and Watford could be defining for both teams.

Now, of course, it is only mid-January, and there are a lot of games to be played still.

However, with both Newcastle and Watford struggling for survival in the Premier League, today’s game takes huge importance.

Newcastle will have new signings Kieran Trippier and Chris Wood in action today.

That partnership could be big for the game against Watford and in subsequent games.

Wood is a very good scorer who could get chances form the crosses that Trippier will put in.

Newcastle will also have home advantage.

In our opinion, Newcastle should win against Watford today.
