Newcastle United are now being offered the chance to sign Watford winger Ismaila Sarr as the Hornets prepare for relegation.
Watford are 12 points adrift of safety with four games to play, so dropping down to the Championship is imminent.
A number of Hornets players are bound to attract interest, such as Joao Pedro and Emmanuel Dennis.
The main attraction though will be Sarr with Premier League clubs no doubt keen to keep him in the top flight.
Football Transfers now claim that Sarr’s main representatives – Said Rubie and Thierno Saydi – have met with Newcastle to offer them Sarr.
It’s suggested that Sarr’s representatives are trying to get him out of Watford and Newcastle are seen as an ideal destination.
However, any deal would allegedly cost around £40million this summer. That’s a decent profit on the £30million Watford paid in 2019.
You can imagine that many agents around the world will be trying to get their clients to Newcastle.
Yet in the case of Sarr, this one really could have some merit to it.
Back in October, the Daily Mail reported that Sarr had become one of the first top Newcastle targets following PIF’s takeover.
That report suggested that Watford believe Sarr can reach a similar level to Jack Grealish, so Newcastle will have to pay up.
Sarr has been branded ‘frightening’ by Watford teammate Ben Foster and his pace has to be appealing to Newcastle.

A deal for the Senegal international would give Eddie Howe the chance to unleash Allan Saint-Maximin down the left and Sarr down the right.
That’s a simply terrifying amount of pace in the final third and Sarr still has his best years ahead of him at just 24.
Sarr has only managed five goals and two assists in the Premier League this season but he has shown his quality before.
13 Championship goals last season fired Watford to promotion and he was dangerous in his first Premier League season too.
There is so much potential in Sarr and Newcastle now seemingly have a golden chance to sign him.
