Newcastle United’s Isaac Hayden has made just one Premier League start in 2018.

Hayden has struggled for game time over the second half of the season, with the former Arsenal man making just one Premier League start in 2018.
And Allen’s arrival at St. James’ Park would only serve to knock him even further down the pecking order at Newcastle.

Allen and Hayden posses a number of similar qualities, with the pair both offering great energy in midfield.
The pair would be in direct competition with each other for a place in Benitez’s side.

And, considering Hayden is already struggling to break into Newcastle’s line-up, the move could only be considered bad news for the £2.5 million signing back in 2016.
Hayden has not even got off the substitutes’ bench in Newcastle’s last four matches, and if Allen was to arrive on Tyneside this summer, it may be best for all parties if the 23-year-old was to move on.
