Newcastle United are said to be targeting Cenk Tosun from Besiktas.

Newcastle United fans have been impressed by Cenk Tosun’s continued goalscoring exploits in the Champions League last night.

Newcastle have been linked heavily with a £15 million move for Besiktas forward Tosun in recent times in the Daily Star and his reputation seems to be growing.

The Turkish international netted twice for Besiktas, as they picked up a highly impressive victory away to Monaco.

Cenk Tosun of Turkey heads the ball during a training session ahead of their UEFA Euro 2016 Group D match against Spain at Allianz Riviera Stadium on June 16, 2016 in Nice, France.

Tosun finished both goals from close range, as Besiktas won 2-1 in the French principality.

And Newcastle fans are eager to see Tosun snapped up, with his goalscoring form now really starting to catch the eye.

Tosun has now scored three goals and claimed one assist in three Champions League appearances for Besiktas this season.

The 26-year-old also has netted four goals in his eight appearances in Turkish domestic competition this term.

Newcastle’s January budget is not yet clear, but it could depend on whether a takeover bid goes through.

Mike Ashley is unlikely to want to spend lavishly if he is still at the helm, but if the club has been sold a new owner may provide Newcastle with the funds to bring Tosun to St. James’ Park.
