Eddie Howe’s Newcastle United have been linked with Alexander Isak, and MOTD presenter Gary Lineker’s verdict on the Real Sociedad forward will encourage the St. James’ Park faithful.
The Daily Mail have reported that Newcastle are interested in signing Isak from Sociedad in the summer transfer window.
The Sweden international forward will cost over £40 million in transfer fees, and this is likely to be prohibitive for Newcastle due to FFP limitations, according to the report.
Now, of course, it remains to be seen if Newcastle step up their interest in the 22-year-old and try to come up with a deal, but for the time being the St. James’ Park faithful will be encouraged to hear Lineker’s thoughts on the youngster.
Former Tottenham Hotspur striker and BBC MOTD presenter Lineker is a huge fan of Isak and was impressed by his performance for Sweden at the Euro 2020 finals last summer.

Lineker described Isak as an “exceptional talent” on Twitter, as you can see below.
