Newcastle United face Rotherham United over the weekend, and HITC pundits give their predictions on the likely outcome.

Dan Coombs

Newcastle 4-0 Rotherham

Newcastle could not ask for an easier fixture, and while they made a meal of their two matches against relegation threatened Blackburn, Rotherham will simply be outclassed by Rafa Benitez’s side, with the two clubs heading in very different directions.

Newcastle 2-0 Rotherham

Rafa Benitez will be thrilled to welcome Jonjo Shelvey back from suspension. Newcastle have struggled for creativity in his absence but, against Rotherham, the absence of Dwight Gayle means he will be relying on Daryl Murphy once again to turn opportunities into goals. The Millers’ best hope is to keep things tight as long as they can.

Alfie Potts-Harmer

Newcastle 4-0 Rotherham

Rotherham got an impressive win against Norwich last weekend, but one gets the feeling Newcastle may be rampant this weekend. The Magpies could have a field day if so against a Rotherham team which have won just 1 point away from home all season.

Vincent Ralph

Newcastle 3-0 Rotherham

The Championship leaders will have enough to overcome Rotherham with relative ease and should fill their boots without being troubled at the opposite end against the league’s bottom club.

Che Thomas

Newcastle 3-0 Rotherham

Top versus bottom, Newcastle have to be expecting a comprehensive win, and I think they’ll get it, even if they have a few selection issues. It would be a big shock if Rotherham come away with something.

Even without their a few of their key players, Newcastle should have enough to see off the league’s bottom side – as plucky as they may be. However, this one may be more difficult than many will assume.
