Paul Merson has predicted the Premier League game between Steve Bruce’s Newcastle United and Marcelo Bielsa’s Leeds United tonight to end in a draw, as quoted on SportsKeeda.
The former Arsenal star and Sky Sports pundit believes that Newcastle and Leeds will play out a 2-2 draw at St. James’ Park.
Merson has also warned Leeds that they could be in a tough season if they lose to Newcastle.
The Englishman has added that he enjoys watching Leeds play.
Merson wrote on SportsKeeda: “I look at Leeds United and for me, they’ve been quite disappointing so far in the Premier League.
“It’s not an extreme situation as things stand, but it seems like a Sheffield United situation from the 2020-21 Premier League season as teams are used to the way they play now.
“Marcelo Bielsa has to change it up a little bit because they’ve become a bit predictable now, as opposed to what was the case when they got promoted to the Premier League.
“I like watching Leeds United and this is an important game for them – it could set the tone for the rest of their Premier League campaign. At the moment, I’m worried for them and if they fail to win this one, I don’t see them having an impressive campaign.
“I’ve thought about it a lot, but I can’t split the two teams. I’m going for a draw at St. James’ Park with plenty of goals on the night.”
A footnote added: “Prediction: Newcastle United 2-2 Leeds United.”

Who will win between Newcastle and Leeds?
Both Newcastle and Leeds are struggling at the moment, and both teams will be determined to kickstart their season.
The Magpies suffered a 4-1 defeat to Manchester United away from home at Old Trafford in the Premier League last weekend.
It followed a 2-2 draw with Southampton at St. James’ Park.

As for Leeds, Bielsa’s side went down 3-0 to Liverpool at Elland Road in the Premier League last weekend.
It followed a 1-1 draw with Burnley away from home at Turf Moor in the league.
Newcastle will be without star striker Callum Wilson for tonight’s game, and that could make it easier for Leeds defensively.
