Newcastle United transfer round up: Magpies latest club linked with Everton’s Niasse and ‘offer made’ for Udinese’s Karnezis

A round-up of Friday’s Newcastle United transfer news.

Newcastle United are among the clubs chasing Everton striker Oumar Niasse, according to The Sun.

Burnley and Brighton & Hove Albion are also credited with interest in the Senegalese, but it is the Seagulls who are said to be in pole position to sign him.

It is claimed that Everton manager Ronald Koeman has told Niasse, who scored four goals while on loan to Hull City during the second half of last season, that he has no future at the club.

And the Toffees will reportedly allow him to leave on loan with an option for a permanent deal, for which they would look to recoup £10 million.

Elsewhere, Tuttomercatoweb reports that Newcastle United have made an offer to sign goalkeeper Orestis Karnezis.

The Greece international currently plays for Italian side Udinese, but is said to have interest from Napoli as they prepare for the the departure of another Newcastle-linked player, Pepe Reina.

And the Magpies could lose out once more, with the report claiming that Karnezis favours a move to Naples.

Even if Karnezis were to link up with Rafa Benitez’s side, it’s unlikely that he’ll be joined by his international teammate Andreas Samaris.

Benitez refused to comment on speculation linking Newcastle with a move for the Benfica midfielder, but according to The Shields Gazette, the Toon Army’s pursuit is over following Friday’s capture of Borussia Dortmund midfielder Mikel Merino.

On to outings now, and Le 10 Sport reports that Saint-Etienne are weighing up a move for Newcastle United’s Massadio Haidara.

The Frenchman played three times for the Magpies last season, but recently entered the final year of his contract on Tyneside.

And another club has entered the running to sign Newcastle striker Emmanuel Riviere, according to The Northern Echo.

It is claimed that Riviere is one of seven players who could leave St James’ Park within the next fortnight, with a move to Turkish side Osmanlispor potentially on the cards.
