Juventus are starting to put plans in place to sign Boubacar Kamara on a free transfer next year, after Newcastle United reportedly failed to hire the Marseille star, per Calciomercato.
The Bianconeri have big dreams for the rejuvenation of Massimiliano Allegri’s midfield over the 2022 January and summer transfer markets. Their big aim is a return to Turin for Paul Pogba, with the Manchester United maestro set to also become a free agent next June.
Additionally, Pogba and Kamara can begin negotiating pre-contract deals with foreign sides from January, if they do not extend first. Manchester United have begun to lose hope that their World Cup winning midfielder will agree new terms, per ESPN. But will continue their efforts to convince him to stay, despite feeling his head is already away from Old Trafford.

Kamara is another that Juventus are beginning to draw up plans to sign when his Marseille contract expires in June. But AC Milan, Roma and Napoli also investigated his situation this summer, and could move again. As did Newcastle, who failed with a Deadline Day pursuit.
That’s according to RMC Sport, who claim Kamara frustrated Marseille by refusing to leave the Stade Velodrome and join Newcastle. The Toon offered Les Phoceens €2.5m (£2m) for a season-long loan that featured an easily-achievable €15m (£13m) option to buy.
Marseille were hopeful that Kamara would extend his contract with Jorge Sampaoli’s side before rejecting a last-ditch move to Newcastle. Now, however, the tension between the 21-year-old and Ligue 1 outfit has changed the situation for the worse.
Should Newcastle revive interest in Marseille star and Juventus target Kamara?
Kamara would have been a superb addition had Newcastle signed the now Juventus target from Marseille on Deadline Day. But the Magpies failed to strengthen Steve Bruce’s engine room, and will likely miss out again in any future pursuit.
The Frenchman clearly had reservations about moving to St James’ Park, and may favour switching southern France for northern Italy. Juventus would be expected to offer Kamara Champions League football and opportunities to win silverware in Turin, as well.
Additional suitors will no doubt appear in an open market for a talent like Kamara on a free transfer, too. The midfielder-cum-defender offers a superb ball winner in a holding role or in the heart of the backline. Former Marseille enforcer Rolando also told RMC Sport that he is a ‘phenomenon’, after breaking into the first-team at 15.
