The two injured players are not available this weekend. Freddie Woodman also trained with the first-team.

Newcastle United take on Cardiff City in the Championship this afternoon and have been hard in training this week ahead of the game.

Two players that Newcastle fans will be pleased to see in action are Dwight Gayle and DeAndre Yedlin.

Gayle missed the recent game against Preston North End with a hamstring problem but he is clearly back and fighting fit for the game. Yedlin came off in that game with a head injury, but he too looked fit in training.

Another interesting face in the session was Daryl Murphy. The summer signing from Ipswich Town has not played often since his move to St James’ Park. He has been injured with a calf problem for just over a month and is not in contention to play but it was good to see him in training.

Rolando Aarons was also present. He has been out of action since August after breaking a bone in his foot against Cheltenham Town in the EFL Cup. He was pictured acting as ball-boy for the session.

19-year-old goalie Freddie Woodman was also in training, as he looks to keep improving at the club – whilst Cheick Tiote and Massadio Haidara continue to go through the motions at Newcastle United.
