Newcastle United have been told that there is one player that the club, under any circumstances, cannot sell.
Eddie Howe’s Newcastle United are set for an important summer with the club needing to improve the squad to try and, once again qualify for the Champions League.
The club struggled in Howe’s third season at the club with Conference League football cruelly snatched away from the Geordie club thanks to Manchester United’s FA Cup victory.
Newcastle are set to be busy in the summer with the club keen on Nottingham Forest midfielder Morgan Gibbs-White this summer but they have been told that one player must not leave St James’ Park under any circumstances.

Newcastle told one player must stay
Don Hutchinson, speaking on ESPN FC’s Extra Time show, believes that Newcastle can’t allow Bruno Guimaraes to leave under any circumstances.
“He’s (Guimaraeas) the only player that they simply cannot let go,” Hutchinson said. “Isak is another one but Guimaraes is someone they cannot afford to lose.”
HITC understands that there is some concern from those at Newcastle that Manchester City could trigger the £100 million release clause in his contract.
City are keen on a new midfield addition and were originally keen on Lucas Paqueta from West Ham United but his alleged betting breaches meant the Citizens backed away from a deal.
It is understood that with Newcastle not achieving European football, this has become a concern for the Brazilian.
Guimaraes interest
It is not only City who are interested in the Brazilian midfielder but Paris Saint-Germain are also keen on the former Lyon star.
Arsenal are said to be admirers of the Brazilian midfielder but HITC understands that the Gunners have little appetite to pay his release clause but the same cannot be said of European giants PSG.
Last season for Newcastle, Guimaraes scored seven goals and provided eight assists in the Premier League but a move away from St James Park could well be on the cards this summer.
