Broja may not be joining but Newcastle could still end up targeting another Chelsea striker amid rumours this week.
Timo Werner has been offered to Newcastle
Earlier this week, Bild’s Christian Falk reported that Newcastle were interested in signing Timo Werner.
The Telegraph then claimed that Newcastle are indeed keen on Werner, but would like Chelsea to pay a huge chunk of his massive £270,000-a-week wages.
Those wages are staggering and could be a major problem if Chelsea do seek to offload Werner.
90Min now claim that Werner has been offered to Newcastle, more likely from his agent than Chelsea themselves right now.
Werner, 26, was a goal machine in Germany with 95 goals in 159 outings for RB Leipzig.
Many were expecting Werner to match that record in the Premier League but it just hasn’t happened, scoring just 10 goals in 56 league appearances for Chelsea.

Raheem Sterling and Kai Havertz look to be the star names in the Chelsea attack, with Werner potentially coming in and out of the side.
Is that good enough for Werner? He will be seeking to impress this season and nail down his spot in the Germany side for the World Cup later this year.
Newcastle could offer a bigger role this season, but Werner will be just one of a number of names on the radar – especially with those wages surely a scary prospect for the Magpies.
