Newcastle United are relying on Chelsea to get transfer business done to secure the transfer of Kenedy.

Newcastle have managed to negotiate a deal for Kenedy, but it will not be confirmed until Chelsea sign a new left-back.
Chelsea want added cover for Marcos Alonso, before they allow Kenedy to depart.

The Brazilian may not have featured in the Premier League this season, but Chelsea still want to make sure that they are not left short.
As a result, Newcastle are left playing the waiting game, and that could be a major risk for Rafael Benitez’s side to play.
Newcastle must sign a new left-back in January, otherwise they will lack quality in that position for the rest of the season, but their fate is now being placed in the hands of Chelsea.

If Newcastle give Chelsea too much time, they may leave themselves with a chance to bring in the additions they need, and see other potential transfer targets pass them by.
And Newcastle would be wise to set a deadline on the Kenedy deal, otherwise Benitez’s side could put themselves in big trouble, if it doesn’t go through.
