Newcastle United have loaned out Dwight Gayle to West Bromwich Albion this season.
Newcastle have loaned out Gayle to West Brom, and the striker has gone on to make a wonderful start at the Hawthorns.
The 28-year-old has smashed in eight goals in his first 13 Championship appearances for West Brom, and helped Darren Moore’s side become the top scorers in the division.
And when asked if a permanent move to the Hawthorns would appeal, the £10 million Newcastle striker (Daily Mail) said: “Yeah of course it’s crossed my mind.
“It’s something that will be on the cards but I suppose I’ve just got to get this season out of the way and let others get on with what they’ve got to do and we’ll see how things go.
“I’m very happy playing my football here and I’m thoroughly enjoying it.”
Newcastle allowed Gayle to join West Brom on loan in exchange for Salomon Rondon.
The transfer initially appeared to be working out better for the Baggies, but Rondon did score twice in his last appearance for Newcastle to help them to victory.
Newcastle would likely be open to offloading Gayle on a permanent basis, if the opportunity did arise.
Rafael Benitez appears to have reservations over utilising him regularly at Premier League level, and West Brom may well be keen to take the striker on a longer-term basis.
