Lascelles, who scored two goals in the Premier League this season, believes that he has come leaps and bounds, not just as a player but as a captain as well.

“The massive stand-out moment was lifting the Championship trophy, as a kid I could never have dreamed of lifting a trophy, especially for a club like this,” said Lascelles, as quoted by The Chronicle.

“That’s probably one of the biggest moments of my life, 23 years old, lifting a trophy. Since then things have been going pretty well for me personally. I had a little dip in November with my injury but I’ll be back out soon.”

“I think I’ve come on leaps and bounds, not just as a footballer, but also as a captain.

“The manager speaks to me a lot and advises me how to act with other players. I think I’ve matured in that way. Footballing wise I think I’ve come on as well, I think I’ve still got a long way to go to where I want to be with this club and international level, hopefully.”
