Newcastle United have arguably the best away support in the Championship.
During an exclusive interview with the Shields Gazette, Magpies skipper Jamaal Lascelles offered high praise for the Newcastle fans, highlighting how important they have been so far this season.
Rafa Benitez’ men currently sit at the top of the Championship table, and hold a six point advantage over third placed Reading, despite losing their last two league outings.
And Lascelles discussed the loyal support of the Toon Army, during an interview with the Shields Gazette, and highlighted the impact that they have on the team:

“Every away game, we get the same sort of reaction from the crowd. They’re unbelievable. It does have a massive impact on us as players. We can hear it. Credit to them. We’re really thankful, and we’ll always give our all on the pitch. Either way, 6,000 or 2,000 – they’re still loud. They keep singing. We can’t fault our fans. All we can do is keep putting in performances for them.”
The Newcastle side will certainly need the support of their fans now more than ever, after suffering a mini-crisis with three consecutive defeats in all competitions.

They host Birmingham City on Saturday, before back-to-back away trips to Wigan Athletic and Burton Albion respectively, and Benitez will surely be targeting nine points for those games, as he and his side look to return to winning ways as soon as possible.
The Championship is a battle of endurance, and if Newcastle can just ride out this tough spell, with the support of the famous Toon Army, there is a good chance they will still achieve automatic promotion.
