Newcastle United are reportedly keen on Tottenham Hotspur defender Davinson Sanchez.

It would show a real sign of intent from Newcastle United and Mike Ashley if they can land Tottenham Hotspur’s Davinson Sanchez.

Don Balon have recently claimed that the North East club are keen on Spurs defender Sanchez, who would be a ‘dream’ signing for Rafa Benitez.

It would be quite something if Newcastle could get a player like Sanchez through the door given his talents and the current level he is playing at.

There is no doubt that something remarkable from both sides will need to happen in order for the Magpies to snap him up, but it is the type of players the current owner should have been aiming for in years gone by.

Newcastle’s current position, no European football and no signs that they could be heading there would put a player like Sanchez off.

Sanchez, who earns £65k-a-week at Tottenham [Spotrac], is a player of big potential and it won’t be a surprise to see him leading a Champions League backline in years to come.
