Newcastle United are said to be interested in snapping up Salomon Rondon from West Bromwich Albion.

Newcastle are on the look out for a new forward, and Rafael Benitez is said to be strongly considering Rondon as an option.
The Venezuelan international has a £16 million release clause, which could be activated by Newcastle now that West Brom have been relegated.

If Rondon does sign for Newcastle, there will be some concerns over whether he will score enough goals to propel the Magpies up the league.
However, what Benitez would have is the hardest working strike-force in the Premier League, which could be crucial to him.
Benitez likes to press from the front, with Ayoze Perez being transformed from light-weight playmaker into a tireless runner during his time at St. James’ Park.

Rondon is already regarded for his non-stop work-rate, with the target-man more than happy to run the channels during his time at West Brom.
And if Benitez does want energy up-front, then bringing in Rondon could be the perfect addition to his Newcastle squad.
