Newcastle United are said to be attempting to sign the Sunderland youngsters.

Sunderland could be set for further humiliation at the hands of Newcastle United, if Rafael Benitez’s side take both Joel Asoro and Josh Maja.
According to a report in the Daily Mail, Newcastle want to snap up both Asoro and Maja in the summer.
The young duo have been two of the bright sparks for Sunderland this season, in their dismal campaign.
And if Newcastle were to take Sunderland’s two brightest prospects off them, it would surely be one of the most frustrating transfer deals in the Black Cats’ history.

There have been suggestions that Maja and Asoro could have big roles to play at Sunderland next season, with Chris Coleman’s side set to drop into League One.
But it seems that Newcastle could snatch them, before they have even had a chance to become first-team regulars at the Stadium of Light.

Both Asoro and Maja have been rotated in and out of Sunderland’s side this season, and have shown signs of promise at Championship level.
And if Newcastle could complete a deal, they could feel very satisfied, because not only would they bring in two top prospects, but they would also embarrass their local rivals in the process.
