Newcastle have already snapped up Martin Dubravka this summer, and he will surely be Rafael Benitez’s side’s number one.
It, therefore, would be strange if Newcastle did decide to bring in Rulli too.
If anything, the Magpies need to lose players in goal – rather than bringing more in.
Newcastle already have Dubravka, Rob Elliot, Karl Darlow and Tim Selz as senior goalkeepers in the squad, while Freddie Woodman remains a well regarded prospect.
Although Sels and Darlow could well depart this summer, Newcastle have no real need to bring in Rulli too, as Elliot has proven himself as solid cover on numerous occasions.
And Benitez would be better off investing his budget elsewhere, rather than attempting to sign Rulli.
