Newcastle United should make a move for Manchester City attacker Nolito in the summer transfer window.

Nolito’s future at Manchester City appears to be wrapped up in uncertainty. The 30-year-old, who can operate as a winger or as a forward, is under contract at City until June 2020, according to Transfermarkt.co.uk, but there is a distinct possibility that he could be sold in the summer transfer window.

According to The Daily Mail, City value Nolito at £10 million, having signed him from Celta de Vigo in the summer of 2016 for a transfer fee reported by The Mirror to be worth £13.8m.

The report in The Daily Mail has also quoted Sevilla president Jose Castro as saying that they want to sign the Spain international on a loan deal, but the Citizens wants to sell him on a permanent contract.

Nolito is a very good attacking player who is versatile as well, and Newcastle United should swoop in and make an offer for the Spaniard.

True, the former Barcelona man is 30 years of age, but he has one year’s experience in the Premier League, and for a price of just £10m, he would be a smart signing for the Magpies.

Four goals and two assists in nine Premier League starts for City last season show what Nolito is capable of.

That former Barcelona head coach Pep Guardiola signed him for the Citizens last season is reason enough to believe that the Spaniard is a very good attacking player.

For Newcastle to break into the top 10 of the Premier League next season, they need players who can create chances and score goals.

Nolito ticks both the boxes; moreover, his versatility means that manager Rafael Benitez would be able to use him in different systems.
